Opua Marina
Bay of Islands, New Zealand

The new 10 berth extension for smaller super yachts (up to 50 metres) alongside the main Opua wharf was formally opened on 14 December 2004.
The NZ$1.5 million extension to the main wharf was the first stage in plans by Far North Holdings Ltd to fully develop the Opua Wharf area and a step towards the overall development of Opua as a servicing and support centre for visiting recreational boats.
The 10 berths created include individual sewage pump-out facilities, power, water and telephone services.
The 162 metres of berth space was also a reflection of the commitment Far North Holdings Ltd has to the protection of water quality in Bay of Islands.
This is the first recreational facility in Northland to have individual sewage pump-out facilities at each berth.
Services of a specific capacity have been installed, including walkways of a greater dimension than usual, to accommodate the needs of larger and heavier vessels. A new shower and toilet block has also been constructed midway down the wharf for visiting vessels and for the general public.
As a company Far North Holdings Ltd are committed to developments that are environmentally compatible and sensitive to the aspirations of the community.
